A couple months ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jessalyn and Sam’s wedding! I met up with the girls getting ready at the hotel in downtown Massillon and snapped a few quick shots across the street. (How great is that building? There’s such great old architecture downtown!) We then hurried over to the Canton Garden Center for the ceremony. The setting was gorgeous, just in front of the small waterfall. We took photos in the park and then moved to the McKinley Monument which clearly is a popular spot for wedding photos! (There were at least three other couples there at the same time!) The reception was so lovely, Jessalyn made all of the gorgeous centerpieces and isn’t that butterfly cake stunning? Jessalyn and I were in choir together in high school and she always had the most beautiful voice, so it was such a treat when she sang Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Way I Am” to Sam! It was just such a fun time and Jessalyn and Sam are such an adorable couple, I’m so happy I was able to be apart of their day!

a look back: Jamie & Paul | wedding
Once you do one wedding, you really can’t stop! So when Jamie and Paul asked me to photograph their wedding in Michigan I was quite excited! (Let me tell you, I love to travel! Even if it’s just to the next state over!) After a small mishap (There was a tear in one of our tires so we had to get it replaced) we made it to Detroit! Before the ceremony we took photographs in the lovely Belle Isle Park. The fountain was beautiful even if the water wasn’t running and the conservatory was gorgeous as well! I’ve been visiting Detroit for years and never even knew the park was there! The ceremony was held at the Pier Park gazebo in Grosse Pointe Farms and it was a perfect spot along the water. Unfortunately the Mayflies were in full force, but the amazing bride and groom paid them no attention. (They surprisingly avoided Jamie’s dress most of the time!) After the ceremony the reception was held at the Double Tree hotel and it was, like everything else, just beautiful! How fun are those Just Married cups? And the candy/sweets table was amazing: rock candy, chocolate covered strawberries, cake pops, and so much more! It was such a wonderful wedding and I’m so thankful Jamie and Paul asked me to photograph their day!
a look back: Matt & Kelsey | wedding
To be completely honest, photographing your first wedding can be a bit nerve wracking. But I was extremely lucky when Matt and Kelsey asked me to be a part of their special day. The day of their wedding, 9/10/11, started out a bit rainy, but quickly turned into a beautiful sunny day in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Matt and Kelsey’s love for the outdoors was clear in every detail of their wedding. From the beautiful chapel with floor to ceiling windows highlighting the woods, the perfect setting of the country club, the terrarium centerpieces (which Kelsey made herself!) and the adorable cake complete with faux-mushrooms and ferns! So it all made perfect sense when they asked me to take photos of them in their hiking gear, which ended up being some of my favorites of the night, they were so much fun! And their last request: to have a photo of the Harvest Moon! Thank you again to Matt and Kelsey for making my first wedding such a wonderful experience!
